Mission Statement

City Help strives to enrich the lives of the homeless, low-income and under-served individuals, at-risk youth and families of the inner city of Los Angeles by providing after-school activities including career development programs and mobile healthcare services.

Description

City Help consists of a Mobile Medical Unit, Vocational GED program, and Youth Department called Lord's Gym.

The Mobile Medical Clinic goes out to various homeless shelters and poverty stricken neighborhoods in the surrounding communities, including Skid Row, to give the uninsured access to free health care.

Our Vocational GED Program is designed to prepare a diverse group of rehabilitating adults 16 years of age and older to pass a battery of five tests that is associated with four years of regular high school study to receive a state approved high school diploma. Our educational services provide Adult Basic Education (ABE), General Educational Development (GED), and Vocational/Technical Career Education.

The City Help Youth department provides a safe place for kids to hang out after school, through the Lord's Gym and Terrace Cafe. The Lord's Gym offers kids the opportunity to get involved in basketball, soccer or other types of sports leagues. They also have a full gym with exercise equipment and weights. The Terrace Cafe not only offers a great environment for kids to eat and hangout, but it is a place where young people can get a job. They become equipped with job skills in a positive environment surrounded by people that care about their well-being and future.
