Musicians are needed to enhance the quality of care of individuals on hospice care. Musicians share their unique gift visiting people on an individual basis. People on hospice care benefit from music by facilitating elevation in mood, relaxation, reminiscence. Hartford HealthCare at Home Hospice Care is looking for volunteers to help patients and their families through the difficult time of hospice care. Our volunteers visit patients in their homes and nursing facilities with a flexible schedule and help provide comfort to our patients by: reading to patients, provide a listening ear, play music, provide reiki, and visits with certified pet therapy teams.

When you give us the valuable gift of your time and compassion, we give you a chance to make a real difference in someone’s life. Volunteer on your schedule and on your terms Free training provided at your convenience We work with you on finding the right patient fit and providing support throughout Volunteers make visits to homes and/or facilities to offer companionship for patients and relief for caregivers. Volunteers usually visit once a week throughout the patient’s special journey on hospice. Examples of volunteer opportunities include reading to the patient, playing music, providing massage, reiki, certified pet therapy, veteran companionship, or by simply being a listening ear. Volunteers are also needed to assist staff in the office. Please be aware that to keep you and our patients/families safe we require volunteers to be up-to-date with their COVID and flu vaccines.
