Mission Statement

To provide access to quality health care for underserved children

Description

For 25 years, Turner House Children’s Clinic has provided quality health care to thousands of underserved children in the heart of Kansas City, Kansas. Turner House provides well-child exams, acute and chronic care, developmental screenings, hearing and vision screenings, immunizations, laboratory testing, dental hygiene services, referrals to specialists and Medicaid enrollment assistance. Founded by volunteer physicians and nurses, it is the only nonprofit Safety Net clinic in Wyandotte County which serves exclusively children, many of whose families earn less than $10,000 a year. Turner House is a nationally recognized level 3, Patient-Centered Medical Home clinic. Electronic medical records are used to promote high quality care, improving children’s health and their abilities to perform in school. Services are provided during week days, evenings and Saturdays in English and Spanish.
