Description

Ag 4 Youth provides an after-school program where at-risk youth, ages 9-19, learn hands-on gardening and animal husbandry. These youth raise meat animals that they sell at the annual fair, and the profits go to a savings account they can use for college or trade school when they come of age.

We provide mentoring and tutoring as part of our agriculture education program. We are like a supportive family for these kids, and the cooperation they experience with their peers creates community. They remain the program, year after year, because of that--and because of the confidence that hard work and achievement create.
