Its colonial kitchen with fireplace and oven, baby cradle, whale oil lamps, and 17th century table with pewter setting - tells how family life once centered around the hearth. Guided tours will show you other rooms with samplers, silhouettes, china and furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries - along with letters and memorabilia from American presidents and other notables.
