The Alice T. Miner Colonial Collection is an American Colonial Revival Museum founded in 1924 by Alice T. Miner in Chazy, New York.
The purpose of the Museum is to
preserve in perpetuity the collection, buildings, and
interpret their meaning and significance to a diverse
The not-for-profit Museum will
provide professional collection care;
conduct on-going research and documentation;
exhibit and interpret the collection according to
offer appropriate educational and cultural activities; and
pursue outreach activities to bring the benefits of the
Museum to an expanding audience.
The Museum serves as the repository for materials and objects related to the history and heritage of Alice T. and William H. Miner.
Come to this Colonial Revival Museum to see rooms and objects that history has touched. Its colonial kitchen with fireplace and oven, baby cradle, whale oil lamps, and 17th century table with pewter setting - tells how family life once centered around the hearth. Guided tours will show you other rooms with samplers, silhouettes, china and furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries - along with letters and memorabilia from American presidents and other notables. The Museum is your entrée into the early life and times of the North Country.
The Museum also includes extensive collection storage and archives containing local genealogy, Alice T. and William H. Miner, early Americana, cards, letters and photographs.
