Mission Statement

Positive Images (P.I.) is a member-driven organization that provides support, advocacy and leadership to Sonoma County’s gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, questioning, asexual, agender and curious youth, ages 12-24, and educates the greater community.

Description

Positive Images (P.I.) is the only gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning and intersexed (GLBTQQI) youth and young adult group inSonomaCounty.Sonoma County hosts 22,000 high school students with limited places to feel safe and supported in discussing issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity. Over the past twenty five years, PI has provided a space for these young people; mentored high schools in the development of on-campus Gay-Straight Alliance clubs; and through the P.I. Community Panel Project has educated thousands of youth, educators, businesses, public service agencies and a variety of other organizations about the critical issues facing GLBTQQI youth and young adults.
