Mission Statement

Promote the behavioral health of children, youth and families and support a positive transition to adulthood.

Description

Edgewood offers a full range of services, from prevention, to intensive treatment, to aftercare and continued wellness. We are proud not just of our impact on 7,000 children and families every year, but also of our efforts to continuously improve outcomes through our research and training programs. We operate over 25 mental and behavioral health programs. An inclusive term, behavioral health promotes well-being by enhancing actions and relationships in all aspects of life--physical and mental health, sobriety and recovery, family interactions, and social and independent living skills.

Founded in 1851 as a refuge for Gold Rush orphans, Edgewood is the oldest children's services nonprofit in the western United States. Today, we offer innovative behavioral health, family support, and educational services in San Francisco and San Mateo counties for youth ages 0-25 and their families. Edgewood offers many programs that are available nowhere else in northern California, including the only level 14 group home--the highest level of care before a psychiatric hospital--for children and teens.
