Special Spirit is an equine therapeutic center where children and adults become empowered through horse-related activities.

Description

Special Spirit is a small but growing nonprofit that utilizes the transformative potential of horse-related learning and treatment modalities to improve the quality of life for underserved children and adults with a diverse range of mental and physical health challenges. Through our primary programs, Therapeutic Riding, Special Spirit changes lives, one person at a time, with this high impact, experiential treatment solution for children and adults challenged by autism, cerebral palsy, or other special needs or disabilities.

I was first introduced to Special Spirit through volunteering. The staff is super friendly and take excellent care of their horses and riders. Management is flexible and very appreciative of their volunteers. I loved it so much that I ended up working there!
