National Volunteer Week 2021 Is Here!
Celebrate with us as we highlight #ArtAsActivism!
Albany Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc. (ATRC, Inc.) utilizes equine-assisted therapy to support the well-being of individuals of all ages and ability levels. Through therapeutic horsemanship and therapeutic riding, ATRC, Inc. strives to encourage the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of its students.
Established in 1981 by Christine "Chris" Lehman, ATRC, Inc. was the first organization of its kind in the local area. For over 35 years Ms. Lehman improved the lives of many as the Center's PATH, Intl. Certified Riding Instructor. Sadly, she passed away in January 2017 after a life dedicated to service. Carrying on her legacy, Taylor Huntley joined ATRC, Inc. in July 2018 and has revitalized the program. Ms. Huntley, who is certified both by PATH, Intl. and CECTH, continues to hone her skills with ongoing education. While Ms. Huntley works to guide learning during lessons, volunteers ensure the safety of the student. Volunteer Coordinator and PATH Intl. RTRI and ESMHL Lauren Longtoe joined the team the summer of 2019. Heading our volunteer program and ground based mental health program, Lauren has helped our organization grow and flourish! Please contact Lauren at volunteer@albanytherapeuticridingcenter.com for more information on helping out!
