Mission Statement

The mission of the Foster Grandparent Program is to provide meaningful volunteer work at schools and other community agencies for people age 60 and over who would like to make a difference in the lives of children.

Description

The Foster Grandparent Program matches volunteers 60 years of age or older with community agencies. Foster Grandparents serve children, age birth to 21, at supervised sites such as preschools, daycares, Head Starts, and elementary schools. Tasks depend on the age of the child, but are generally related to tutoring, mentoring, and self-esteem building.
