Mission Statement

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

Description

The Relay For Life is a 24 hour event to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society. Relays are held throughout the nation and our La Jolla Relay is being held this year at Muirlands Middle School from 9am on Saturday, June 13th to 9am on Sunday, June 14th. Participants take turns walking the track with the idea that cancer never sleeps and so for 24 hours neither will we and throughout the 24 hours we have entertainment, fundraisers and ceremonies to honor our loved ones with cancer and help fight back against the disease.
