The mission of the Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado (EFCO) is to prevent, control and cure epilepsy and to ensure people with seizure disorders are able to participate in all life experiences. Our goals are to improve the quality of life for people with epilepsy, eliminate the stigma associated with the disorder through awareness and education and prevent the onset of epilepsy.
The Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado is making a difference through the following programs: (1) school education through classroom presentations on epilepsy; (2) support groups where people come together in a social setting to share challenges and problem-solve together; (3) teenage mentorship; (4) nurses' trainings; (5) public symposia to provide education to people with epilepsy and their families; (6) a summer camp for children and teens with epilepsy; and (7) statewide information and referral services to connect people with epilepsy with community resources to help solve their special needs.
