Mission Statement

The mission of the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department is to provide world class Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Medical Services to the communities that make up the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire District and also to neighboring districts in times of need.

Description

The Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department (M-LFD) covers over ten square miles and has a residential population of over 44,000, and more than three times that amount during the workweek. Within the district there are two major hospitals, an industrial park, three high schools, seven middle and elementary schools, numerous shopping centers, houses of worship, office buildings and stores, major access highways and our Town Hall. We also cover over two miles of shore-front.

We are responsible 24x7 for the full spectrum of fire, rescue, and medical emergencies within our district. This includes structural fires, technical and heavy rescue, elevator rescue, water rescue, haz-mat, vehicle extrication, and all types of medical emergencies.

We have been providing this service since 1912 with an entirely volunteer staff, and we proudly continue that tradition today.

Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department, I live close to Company #3 and I see how amazing the men & women who volunteer really are. How quickly their response time is to the 44000 residents over the ten square miles.I think it is amazing they have been providing service since 1912. So I would just like to say Thank You & Happy Holiday's Respectfully John C
