Mission Statement

Our Mission: To provide, free of charge, low-income and homeless children from birth to pre-teen the basic essentials they need to be safe, warm, ready to learn, and valued. We also set a foundation for lasting change through the meaningful, tangible volunteer opportunities we provide to thousands of youth and adults each year. We're the glue between communities that have and communities that need.

Cradles to Crayons is a non-profit agency that distributes children's clothing, books, toys, equipment, and school supplies to low-income and homeless children ages birth to twelve in the greater Philadelphia area.
We gather new and gently used products from community drives and individual donations, organize and process the goods in our warehouse, then work with established social service agencies (including social workers, schools and hospitals, and other non-profits) to distribute the goods directly to children in need. All products and services are provided free of charge, and thanks to our many dedicated volunteers and supporters we've been able to keep costs low and benefits high.

Would you recommend Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia?

Cradles to Crayons is such a great, unique organization. Every time a volunteer day is approaching, I am eager to attend. They help out so many children and change the lives of many families. I would gladly advocate on their behalf to anyone questioning if they should volunteer or not. Such a great, welcoming place!
