Mission Statement

The purposes for which The Woman's Exchange of Old Lyme, Inc. is formed are as follows: 1. To promote and encourage the creativity and industry of residents of Old Lyme and of other communities. 2. To provide an attractive center for the sale of hand-crafted and homemade products, small antiques and other products of value and interest. 3. T o maintain and encourage high standards of workmanship. 4. To contribute to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code when there is a surplus of revenue over expenses from the sale of the products.

Description

The Woman's Exchange of Old Lyme is one of a number of shops throughout the country belonging to the national Federation of Woman's Exchanges, founded in 1832.

The Exchange serves consignors as a marketplace for fine handiwork, food specialties, and unusual gifts. All proceeds from the Woman's Exchange of Old Lyme are donated to other non-profit groups in the shoreline area.
