Mission Statement

The Santa Ynez Valley Botanic Garden Foundation’s mission is to provide a unique, accessible and interactive environment, highlighting plants native to Santa Ynez River watershed. The Garden will encourage community collaboration and new ways of thinking about environmental education and appreciation of the natural world. The Garden will be a source of inspiration and information, a venue for arts and crafts, and a peaceful refuge for all visitors, both young and old alike.

Description

Volunteers are needed for our Botanic Garden. The Garden is unique in that only plants native to the Santa Ynez Valley are featured. We work closely with schools and community organizations to provide educational interactive activities. The Garden provides a perfect environment to learn about conservation and preservation of our environment. We work with the Chumash Indian Tribe and are able to share their culture and heritage with students and our community. Because of the nature of the Garden, we have attracted several species of native birds, and have provided educational programs as well.
