Mission Statement
The mission of the Diaspora African Women's Network is to develop and support the next generation of African diaspora women leaders focused on African affairs.
Description
DAWN achieves its mission through three pillars:
>Leadership: DAWN provides regular leadership opportunities through private dinners and informal events with members and senior professionals in the African affairs field. Discussions center on best practices for leadership, career advancement, work/life balance, and health and wellness.
>Professional Development: DAWN host quarterly professional development trainings for our members and the community with experienced African affairs professionals. We host the Diaspora Leadership Series, a quarterly gathering featuring prominent women of the African diaspora who are working on Africa related matters.
>Networking: DAWN provides its members with a network platform to connect, meet, and build professional and personal connections while gaining invaluable Africa-related
information and opportunities. Some of our methods are facilitating job placements and
developing career pipelines.
