Mission Statement

TCAC (Tennessee's Community Assistance Corp)is a 501(3)C non profit that is devoted to assisting low-income families in 42 counties in Tennessee. Our mission is working together to build stronger communities in TN. We host 3 national service programs. AmeriCorps VISTA and AmeriCorps members are paid volunteers that meet the needs of youth, seniors and the community at large.

Description

AmeriCorps members in the Community Cares program provide direct assistance to residents in public housing and rural communities. Members grocery shop, transport clients to doctor's appointments, light housekeeping, provide cognitive fun activities for people that are frail, challenged or have a disability.

AmeriCorps VISTA members in the Community VISTA program indirectly impact community by building capacity for resident programs that benefit people of all ages in public housing communities. VISTA programs may include after school programs, senior programs, health programs, transportation, feeding the hungry and other needed community programs.
