To rescue, rehabiliate, rehome or transfer homeless or unwanted pets and to educate the public and prospective pet owners on responsible pet ownership.
A non-profit 501C3, all volunteer group dedicated to helping homeless pets in the Greater Kansas City area. Our organization is the result of an alliance between several rescuers in the Kansas City region who share the same goal of ending animal suffering and homelessness.

As someone who has both worked for and volunteered with a lot of not-for-profit groups, I care about whether the people involved really care about what they're doing, and whether their money is being used wisely. Good news - for TARA, it's yes on both accounts, and that's why I've been a regular volunteer for 6+ months!

T.A.R.A. is a great organization! I started volunteering with them almost 2 years ago and it has changed my life. Every member of this organization is just as important as the next. It has been a very fulfilling and rewarding experience. I have had the opportunity to save the lives of countless dogs and cats. I look forward to many more years as a T.A.R.A. volunteer!

I first started volunteering after I adopted a dog from T.A.R.A. They are dedicated not only in rescuing the animals, but do everything they can to make sure the right dog/cat is placed with the right family so they find a "forever" home instead of being placed back in another shelter. They are a wonderful organization that needs more volunteers and donations in order to give more animals a second chance at life.
