Mission Statement

Presbyterian Urban Ministries (PUM) is a Christ centered outreach, dedicated to helping those in need in San Diego. We provide immediate physical assistance as well as spiritual and social support to transform lives.

Description

Operating in the Golden Hills neighborhood of San Diego, Presbyterian Urban Ministries began in 1968 as an outreach of the Presbytery of San Diego. The staff and volunteers at PUM work not only to meet clients’ immediate physical needs but to go beyond this level to offer psychological, social, and spiritual services that can lead to real transformations in clients’ lives. In partnership with other agencies, we help San Diegans in need and in vulnerable sitautions. Our services include help with food, clothes, and hygiene items, assistance looking for jobs or recovering from addiction, and obtaining necessary identification documents.
