Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
To end the suffering and needless killing of companion animals (dogs and cats) in many U.S. animal shelters through:
• EDUCATION about the severity of pet overpopulation, as well as strategies and methods to prevent it.
• PROMOTION & SUPPORT of targeted efforts and programs that work to prevent pet overpopulation, especially those that provide spay and neuter as part of the solution.
Our all-volunteer group works diligently to stop pet overpopulation at the beginning of the cycle. We promote sterilization of companion animals as the best way to reduce their numbers in U.S. shelters. We give free presentations and workshops, design creative postings on social media, and do other educational outreach activities. We also fundraise for our spay/neuter grant program to support organizations that sterilize as part of their strategy to reduce cat and dog populations.
Addionally, harnesslife.org focuses on educating the public about other topics related to pet overpopulation: programs and approaches to help reduce owner surrenders, unregulated dog breeding, dog fighting, feral cat considerations and pet law.
We are not a rescue organization. However, we work closely with our local rescue groups and shelters to continually discover ways that we can be more effective.
