Description

Operation Caring Through Sharing is a local non-profit organization founded in July 2004 by Ormond Beach, Florida resident Brenda George. Brenda is the oldest of ten children; she has personally known and suffered from hunger and homelessness at one time in her life. From that experience OCTS was formed. Brenda has several years of experience working with local humanitarian projects. OCTS is a sponsorship program that provides nutritional assistance in a very unique way, to families in need on a continual basis of no less than one year. This was established in an effort to promote stability within the family unit.

Operation Caring Through Sharing matches those more unfortunate with those less fortunate in an effort to stop hunger one family at a time. Sponsors who may be individuals or groups are asked to fell one box of food monthly with a $35 (thirty-five dollar) value. Each sponsor/group commits to no less then one year of providing food. The boxes are distributed directly to the families in need. The unique aspect of this program is twofold; 1. One on one sponsorship for no less then twelve month period, in order to promote stabilization with in the family unit. 2. The sponsorship pairs sponsors with families in need right in the sponsors very own community. We are dedicated to eliminating hunger as well as promoting stabilization within the family by obtaining and distributing food to the needy on a consistent basis.
