Description

As one of a handful of organizations in California specifically dedicated to providing HIV and STI prevention services to communities of color, the California Prevention and Education Project (CAL-PEP) is uniquely qualified to provide effective HIV outreach, prevention, and case management services for minority populations in the San Francisco Bay Area. With a 25-year history of prevention service provision in Oakland, San Francisco, and other Bay Area cities, CAL-PEP has established a high degree of visibility and trust within its target region. This trust allows CAL-PEP to effectively recruit hard-to-reach populations, and to retain high-risk and multiply diagnosed individuals in culturally competent prevention and service programs. CAL-PEP serves an average at least 5,000 high-risk unduplicated clients each year through repeated one-on-one contacts and direct service interventions.
