Description

Cedarwood Waldorf School is a pre-k through 8th grade school that was founded in 1997 to expand the opportunties for Waldorf education in the greater Portland area. We are located at 3030 SW Second Avenue in the historic Neighborhood House, across the street from Lair Hill Park. Cedarwood School is a warm and vibrant community of committed teachers and parents dedicated to the physical, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual development of children. Waldorf education is the fastest growing, non-sectarian school movement in the world today with over 800 schools in 36 countries.

Waldorf education meets the challenges of an ever changing world with education that addresses the whole human being. This approach supports each stage of development with academic, artistic, physical, and social activities that draw forth each child's unique capacities. Love of learning is cultivated in an environment where every student is embraced by the whole school community. Cedarwood School's Mission is to engage the mind, fire the imagination, and strengthen the will as students develop with initiative, creativity, and skills to serve an evolving humanity.
