The Greater Lansing Housing Coalition is committed to providing quality, affordable housing for low and moderate income persons and revitalizing neighborhoods.

Description

Greater Lansing Housing Corporation (GLHC), a non-profit community development corporation, provides quality affordable housing for low and moderate income persons and helps revitalize neighborhoods. Since 1989, GLHC has rehabilitated over 145 homes and 243 apartments in the Lansing area.

The HERO program is GLHC's newest program and one of its most powerful to date. The Homeowner Education Resource Organization provides free classes on home repair and maintenance to Lansing residents. The HERO Program also provides a mobile tool lending library and will soon offer networking for seniors who need home repairs. HERO also offers free foreclosure prevention counseling and financial counseling through local counseling agencies in Lansing.

What a great way to help low to mod senior citizens. I helped build a wheelchair ramp. There was no cost to the homeowner a senior citizen. Great program! Recognized by the Gov of MI and President Obama!
