NEMAA provides opportunities for artists and the community to connect. NEMAA:

1. Connects Northeast Arts District partners:
   • NE Artists
   • NE Businesses
   • Donors
   • Media
   • Art Buyers
   • Support Foundations
   • Neighborhoods
   • Non-profit arts and community organizations
2. Coordinates and promotes local fine art events:
• Art-A-Whirl , our famous Studio Tour and Open House
• Monthly Open Studios including First Thursdays, First Fridays, and Second Saturdays, year-round open studios in the NE Arts District
• The Fall Fine Arts Show
3. Publishes the annual NEMAA Artist Guide/Directory - a year-long guide for visitors to NE. The Guide includes a listing of NEMAA artists and arts events in Northeast Minneapolis, a map to NE with Art-A-Whirl locations, and a dining guide.
4. Provides our members with consistent communication including emails, monthly newsletters containing important organizational information, upcoming exhibits, artist opportunities, studio opportunities, and community news.
5. Serves as a partner in accomplishing the goals of the Arts Action Plan 2002--a 15-year plan for the success of the Arts District. The Arts Action plan seeks to represent Northeast artists in the neighborhood and city developments, and works for creative solutions on issues that affect artists.
