IV. What makes our organization different - There are three things that set the dream factory apart from other dream fulfilling organizations-
1 . Medical - It is The Dream Factory’s mission to fulfill the dreams of critically and chronically ill children . These are children who will be living with their diseases for the rest of their lives. Children with chronic i llness such as Type 1 diabetes, hemophilia, sickle cell, multiple sclerosis, cystic fibrosis, heart defect s or degenerative disease s , like c erebral palsy, and spina bifida. These are the children who face a never ending cycle of doctor visits, hospital stays, and time away from their friends. These children who live with so many challenges deserve to have something special.
2. Manpower - At the chapter level we are all volunteers. Our national headquarters has just 5 employees . Because of th is , our operating/ administrative costs are extremely low and a significant majority of the money we raise is used for the fulfill ment of children’s dreams , not office workers salaries .
3. Money - 90 % of funds raised in our community stays here with our local chapter to fulfill dreams for local children. Our goal is to put most of those funds towards the dreams.
