Mission Statement

North Raleigh Ministries provides neighbors in crisis with food and emergency financial assistance in a Christian environment. We strive to ensure that all staff and volunteers conduct ourselves with caring and compassion in a Christian environment.

North Raleigh Ministries is a Non-Profit organization created to help our neighbors in crisis. There are three branches to our ministry:

  • The first is our Crisis Center, which is a place for our neighbors in crisis to come to receive financial assistance for their water, electric or rent bills. Most of our Crisis Center clients are temporarily struggling and simply need a helping hand to get back on their feet.
  • The second ministry is our Client's Choice Food Pantry, known as "The Market." For those neighbors who are having trouble feeding their famillies, The Market is set up like a any other food market where clients choose their own groceries from a variety of categories. The Market was the first Client's Choice Food Pantry in Wake County, and it remains only 1 of 2. It is the only Client's Choice Food Pantry in Raleigh.
  • The Thrift Shoppe is a large, well-organized store that is open for anyone to come and purchase items such as gently-used clothes and shoes, furniture, house-hold items, books, toys and more. All proceeds from the Thrift Shoppe go directly to supporting our Crisis Center.

We also offer job counseling and a "Jobs for Life" class (offered three to four times per year) at the Crisis Center. Jobs for Life is an international program with a biblically based curriculum designed to help students learn the principles needed to succeed in today's competitive job market while developing a support community.

Finally, we also purchase and pack food for approximately eighty (80) recipients of Backpack Buddies, a program for school-aged children identified by the school as food insecure. Backpack Buddies provides food for these children over the weekend. Six individual meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) as well as two snacks are put together at our facility and then are delivered to four area public schools.

We are supported by area churches, businesses, and individuals in the community. We are always accepting donations of time, talents, & treasures!
