Mission Statement

The City of Tempe Crisis Response Team is a team of trained community volunteers, master's level student interns, and mental health staff who respond as requested by Tempe Police and Fire Departments in order to provide timely, supportive, quality response and/or resources to citizens who would benefit from mental health stabilization and support during a time of emotional trauma or need.

Description

The Crisis Response Team also known as C.A.R.E. 7, is a project of three city departments; the Tempe Police, Fire, and Community Services departments. The Police and Fire departments discovered a need for emotional support and mental health stabilization for individuals who have experienced a trauma. Such cases include sexual assault, death of a loved one, fire, domestic violence, and many other situations. C.A.R.E. 7 Volunteers provide assistance and support to victims experiencing trauma.
