Mission Statement

To provide a coordinated, child focused, multidisciplinary approach to child sexual abuse in St. Clair, Monroe and Randolph counties.

Description

The CAC is a non-profit organization set up to help children who have been victims of criminal sexual assaults and associated crimes.

The CAC helps children by:

  • The multidisciplinary team witnesses the interview of the child vicitm. The team is made up of
    • An Investigator of the police agency having jurisdiction over the case.
    • An assistant state's attorney from the county that the case would be prosecuted.
    • A Department of Children and Family Services Investigator.
  • The child and their family are supported through the process by the team and CAC staff.
Each one of these agencies would has an important role in helping the child.
