Mission Statement

The Office of Community and Educational Partnerships (OCEP) builds, supports and coordinates productive partnerships with educational institutions, community organizations and other groups. Our earliest program, the Service-Learning Initiative, began in 2002, with the formation of a partnership with California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) to service the residents of the CDC's Carmelitos Public Housing community. Since then, the office and programs have expanded to support all of the large public housing communities and Divisions of the CDC and partners with numerous schools and organizations. OCEP supports the CDC through academic internships; service learning, practicums and other civically engaged opportunities and partnerships designed to be mutually beneficial.
