Description

Volunteer, Work,Play and Pray

The mission of the congregation of the Sisters of St. Anne is in the areas of education, health care, student ministry and social advocacy. Vacations That Give provides the opportunity for the participant to give back, to really learn about a culture and understand better the challenges and systematic issues of social situations either domestically or globally. We offer an experience for adults to work side-by-side, intentional evening reflection and prayer with a Catholic perspective and enjoy the area through vacation type experiences. Most important, is the desire to make all of this available at a price point or with financial support to people from all social-economic groups. "Vacations That Give" started slowly offering trips to New Orleans, LA and Biloxi, MS to help with Katrina recovery and has now branched out to Staten Island following Sandy and economically challenged areas of West Virginia in addition to trips to Santiago and Antofagasta, Chile, Oklahoma, the Poconos, Puerto Rico, Haiti and Romania. Our efforts are targeted towards reinforcing the message of social advocacy and offer opportunities for individuals to change lives, theirs and those they meet.
