While this was an easy volunteer event (indoors, ac, no hard manual labor), there are a few things that would draw me away from volunteering again. One, when you go in it would be nice if you were assigned a job and taught how to do it, instead, they try to teach you how to do every job (some of which involve cash/credit transactions) and it gets rather confusing. Two, the woman in charge of the whole event was a little rude. My husband and I were put at the packet pick up station (so you only have something to do if there are people in line), at one point, she came up to us and said "you guys are just standing over here relaxing, chatting...not doing anything" and then walked away. I, for one, do NOT appreciate being spoken as if I'm being lazy when I'm doing exactly the job that was asked of me. It's not like this was my place of employment where if it were slow I could find something to do.
