Mission Statement

Seeds of Grace builds sustainable and organic gardens in impoverished neighborhoods around the world to feed God's Sheep

Description

Seeds of Grace builds partnerships in our community and around the world, with the hope that less people will fall through the cracks and more people will be able to eat healthy food that they have had a hand in growing themselves. We develop relationship with a host orgnanization and a distribution organization. The host organization will be where the garden is located and the distribution organiztion is who will get the food out to the hungry. An example: Bremerton Parks hosts 2 of Seeds of Grace gardens, and all the food that is harvested from those gardens gets delivered to Bremerton Foodline to be distributed to the hungry.

We count on community volunteers, located around the gardens to maintain and harvest the garden.

Seeds of Grace will plan, procure materials and donations for the garden and bring in the intiial work party for the garden, but then we turn it over to the local garden coordinator, who schedules ongoing volunteers and connects with the distribution organization to schedule ongiong receipt of the harvest.

Our out of country mission trips require extensive planning and procurement of materials. We include tilapia and aguaponic systems in those gardens. They are managed by locals and all of the food that we grow feeds the hungry. Thus far, we have one garden in Mexico that is producing a plethora of fish, fruits and vegetables, benefiting a feeding center which serves about 60 children daily.

Our goals include at least 5 local gardens yearly, 1 global garden yearly and we are planning on building an inmate vocational program.
