Annually, more than 3,300 people take part in values-based nurturing programs and activities at our YMCA. Each day, more than 1,300 children take part in YMCA child care programs: o Our school age program has grown to 770 children at 15 sites throughout Rockland County. o Our early childhood program serves more than 400 preschoolers at five centers. o On a weekly basis, more than 750 youth participate in health and fitness programs including: dance, swimming lessons, karate, and youth sports.
Established in 1888, the Rockland County YMCA has grown and evolved with the times and with the ever-changing needs of the Rockland County, New York community it serves. Today, our YMCA's 20 community-based sites reflect the diverse population of Rockland County, while delivering programs that meet the needs of infants, preschool and school-aged children, adults, and seniors. YMCA's are for people of all faiths, races, abilities, ages and incomes; no one is ever turned away for inability to pay.
