Mission Statement

The Area Agency on Aging of Central Texas/AAACT provides services o promote independence for persons 60 years or older. The AAACT is mandated under the Older Americans Act of 1965 (OAA) and supported by the Texas Department on Aging through Federal grants awards under the Title III of OAA, State General Revenue grants, local governments, foundations and voluntary client contributions.

Description

The AAACT provides Benefits Counseling: Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Qualified Income Trust, QMB/SLMB, Long Termca Care Policy and Nursing Facility Care. Information and Assistance: Provide information and assistance services for seniors with: Information, Guidance, Direction and Linkage to appropriate and available community resources, programs and services. Options Case Management: provides assistance to seniors with a recent medical change in maintaining independence with short-term (less than 3 months) supportive in-home services. Included but not limited to: referral, asssessment, care plan development, monitoring, personal assistance, homemaker, home delivered meals, respite care among others. Long-Term Care Ombudsman: Provides advocacy services to residents of long term care facilities/nursing homes based on laws, regulations and procedures. Services include but not limited to: Rights Information, Resource Identification, Complaint Resolution, Volunteer Traning and Assures Quality of Care.
