Mission Statement

Description
The California State Park system in Big Sur has volunteer camp host positions. This is a unique opportunity to live and work in one of the most incredible state parks, with miles of rugged coastline, breathtaking waterfalls, majestic redwood forests, and wildlife viewing year-round. This is a great opportunity to support the parks, assist visitors, and meet fellow travelers.
Camp host duties include providing visitor information, assisting campground operations, firewood sales, nature interpretation, maintenance projects, and general light housekeeping. Most hosts work a minimum of 20 hours a week, for a commitment of 3 to 6 months. In exchange for those services, hosts are provided with a campsite during their stay. Some campsites have hook-ups and access to laundry and restroom facilities with hot showers.
