To inspire love of the land and conservation of our treasured landscapes.
Since its founding in 1978, the mission of the Land Trust has been to conserve significant lands and waters of California’s Central Coast. The result: about 40,000 acres of magnificent land is undisturbed.
In recent years, we have refocused our mission on the well-being of people and the stewardship of land. Our goal is to ensure the connectedness of community and landscape in this exceptional place in the world.
The Big Sur Land Trust is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) governed by a board of trustees, operated by a professional staff and supported by hundreds of members and volunteers. Our work is funded by generous private donations and public conservation funding.
