Description

VOLUNTEER DRIVERS ARE URGENTLY NEEDED FOR AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY'S ROAD TO RECOVER PROGRAM TO GET PATIENTS TO THEIR CANCER TREATMENTS....Cancer patients from Polk County need your help to get to chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The American Cancer Society's Road to Recovery program is in need of volunteers who are willing to drive cancer patients to and from their life-saving cancer treatments. Schedules are very flexible. "Since I do not own a car or have any relatives within 600 miles, your volunteer drivers and the transportation service are the greatest. And since I don't have to be anxious or nervous about getting to my chemotherapy treatments, it's making a big difference in my health," says one cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy. Training is provided to those who want to volunteer their time. Requirements include having a safe driving record, a valid driver's license and a vehicle that is in good working condition.
