Mission Statement

The U.S. Dream Academy is dedicated to serving under-supported youth who may be struggling academically, have a family with a history of incarceration, or are living in a community with a high rate of crime. We place a high value on mentors, and the contribution our community partners and volunteers play. We also facilitate a number of interns in various programs from universities close by.

Description

The US Dream Academy was established to provide a safe, loving, and constructive after-school learning environment for under supported children and youth.

Mentoring for The Dream Academy is one of the first volunteer projects I have ever been a part of and it has come to be something that I look forward to ever week. Having the opportunity to be a positive adult role model and make a difference in a young persons life by simply connecting and spending time with them is really as easy as it gets for volunteer work. The staff at The Dream Academy has been nothing but warm, friendly, and appreciative even when there has been some staff changes the new staff members instantly welcome and embrace you. I would highly recommend working with The Dream Academy for anyone that is looking to even just spend an hour a week making a difference.

It is a great organization that tries to reach out to kids that may be in unfortunate circumstances, so that they will reach their full potential and become successful. You get a great sense of comfort, when working with these kids, and want to be there for all of them. Everyone should look into this more and volunteer, so that they could make a difference in these kids' lives as well as their own.
