Mission Statement

Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating houses so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which every person can experience God's love and can live and grow into all that God intends.

Description

Highlands County Habitat for Humanity is a Christian non-profit house building ministry. We build and sell houses to low and very low income families who do not qualify for a conventional loan. This is at no interest or profit. Our homeowners must have a steady income and agree to partner with us by putting in 400 hours of sweat equity towards their home. In this way we help our community by improving families' living conditions and we build relationships that cross lines of race, religion and economic status. We are a volunteer organization, therefore anyone willing to give of their time is welcome.
