Mission Statement
Oklahoma Court-Appointed Advocates for Vulnerable Adults mission is to mobilize and train volunteers to be the eyes and ears of Oklahoma courts, to protect adults who are vulnerable, including those who have intellectual and/or physical disabilities from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and unnecessary violation of their rights.
Description
Oklahoma Court-Appointed Advocates for Vulnerable Adults Association, Inc. (OCAAVAA) is an incorporated non-profit organization established to advocate for the best interests of vulnerable adults, 18 years and older, within Oklhoma's court system; adheres to the belief that all individuals are entitled to a life of dignity with independence and self-determination; encourages and provides assistance to local communities in the development, growth and continuation of programs that recruit, screen, train and supervise citizen volunteers to serve as court-appointed advocates for vulnerable adults, as defined by Oklahoma Statues, primarily for abused, neglected, exploited or disabled or for any other action related to the vulnerable adults in court proceedings throughout Oklahoma.
