Mission Statement

AdvoCATS, Inc. is a nonprofit, tax deductible 501(c)(3)organization begun in March, 1999. It is dedicated to the well-being of the Big Island's homeless cat population. We support the Trap-Neuter-Return program as the humane way to reduce the number of unwanted cats, we well as prevent the spread of feline diseases.

Description

AdvoCATS identifies feral cat colonies. Volunteers feed and care for these colonies on a daily basis. The food and care is paid for by the individual volunteer. All donations go to spay/neuter. AdvoCATs supports T-N-R. Once trapped , the cat is transported to a local veterinary clinic. After examination, healthy cats are neutered/spayed, ear tipped, allowed to recuperate from surgery overnight and returned to their colonies where the volunteer caregiver monitors their recovery. AdvoCATS is establishing a no-kill sanctuary for cats on the Big Island who have nowhere else to go.
