Mission Statement
The mission of Denver Youth Program dba Metro Denver Partners is to promote a safe and growth-oriented environment in which at-risk youth can develop and flourish through: friendship and commitment; mentoring and role modeling; education and guidance; and family support.
Description
Youth and adult volunteers participating in Douglas County Partners commit to a one-year program. Each youth is matched in a one-to-one Partnership with an adult volunteer thoroughly screened and trained by staff. Although the Partners' commitment is for one year, the majority of Partnerships continue indefinitely. The essential role of the adult volunteer is friendship, role modeling and advocacy. The staff provides extensive support to both the volunteers and families.
All youth involved in the Douglas County Program have the following support services available to them: case management, extensive educational programs, recreational activities, community service projects, and activities for youth waiting to be matched with a mentor.
