Mission Statement

At the heart of NAMI San Diego & Imperial Counties' mission is the sharing of information and striving to end the stigma associated with mental illness. To this end, we offer a Helpline, support groups, educational meetings, newsletters, a lending library and a number of classes on mental illness held at various locations throughout San Diego AND Imperial County.

Description

NAMI San Diego is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that is an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. We are responsible for our own funding and provide our services as an independent, local organization.

NAMI San Diego administers two kinds of programs: NAMI "grass roots" programs (programs developed by NAMI) for the support and education of people affected by mental illness and their families, and contracted support services programs, generally related to financial management needs of people affected by mental illnesses.
