Mission Statement

This is a 501 (c) 3 Corporation established to promote a positive environment for general aviation. This is a historical all Women Transcontiental air race that has been in existence since 1929. It is flown every year to various locations across the country.

Description

This is an organization that is the only all women transcontiental air race in the country today.

This organization has been in existence since 1929. It started with Emilia Earhart and 12 other women when they flew the USA. It is now known as the Air Race Classic. It was originally the Powder Puff Derby.

It was dubbed the Powder Puff Derby by Will Rogers in 1929.

Usually 40 to 50 planes with 2 women pilots will fly across this country to various stops listed in the 2008 air race.

The race terminates in Mansfield, MA.

Mansfield will need lots of volunteers for the 2 1/2 day event that is being planned. It will be the Women's Air Race combined with a family event.
