Mission Statement
The Mission of Bay Area Women Against Rape is to empower, support, intervene on behalf of, and advocate for sexual assault survivors and their significant others. Bay Area Women Against Rape also strives to provide education to the community at large in an effort to increase it's awareness of and sensitivity to sexual assault issues.
Description
BAWAR is a 24-hr, comprehensive rape crisis organization offering: 24hr hotline, accompanient and advocacy to survivors taken to hospitals and/or police departments, Court accompaniment, in-person counseling, community education. We provide all of our services in English and Spanish 24/7 and have other languages available depending on volunteers. Additionally we have a Latina/o outreach, LBGTQI program and a Sexually Exploited Minors program.
