Mission Statement

HandsOn Central Ohio's mission is to strengthen and enhance the quality of life in our community by mobilizing volunteers and connecting people to critical community resources.

Description

The Foster Grandparent Program is open to people age 60 and over who are in-come eligible and willing to serve between 15 and 40 hours a week. They are given a tax free stipend of $2.65 an hour. This stipend does not reduce or eliminate their eligibility for assistance or services that is available to them under federal, state or local government programs. In addition to the stipend the individuals serving have flexible schedules, paid holidays and annual recognition. Foster Grandparents receive a supplemental accident automobile liability insurance, reimbursement for their travel, meals while they are serving and monthly training

Disaster Preparedness programs include the 2-1-1 Emergency Volunteer Team and the Volunteer Reception Center Team.

I have checked into it for myself. And I will be moving from Hawaii to Westerville at a senior retirement center and I felt this would be a good activitity to do .
