Description

On Martin Luther King Jr. day, CYS Americorps, in association with Tumwater Parks and Recreation and The Evergreen Center for Community Based Learning, will be hosting the 3rd Annual "Experiencing Equality" event. It will be open to kids from 1st through 5th grade. We will be doing experiential learning activities as well as historical teachings on the importance of Dr. King and his work. Our focus will be on rights or priviledges, anti-oppression, and activism conveyed in a way that youth can understand and feel empowered by.
